The functions required of pharmacies in community healthcare are changing dramatically as healthcare becomes increasingly sophisticated and complex. The vision of pharmacies for patients calls for pharmacies to perform three functions: advanced pharmacy management, family pharmacy, and health support, and the role of community pharmacists in society is diverse. There is also a demand for the development of pharmacists with advanced knowledge and experience in the area of oncology, such as pharmacists certified by the Japanese Society of Pharmaceutical Health Care and Sciences as pharmacists specializing in community pharmacy care (oncology) and pharmacists certified by the Japanese Society of Pharmaceutical Oncology as "Board-certified Pharmacist of Ambulatory Cancer Chemotherapy".
The Department of Social Community Pharmacy aims to form a center for fostering community pharmacists who can respond to the needs of society with an eye on social conditions, to develop pioneering clinical pharmacy research in collaboration with universities and pharmacies, and to conduct educational activities related to medical and clinical pharmacy for pharmacists in community pharmacies.
Various problems and questions arise in the medical field, including pharmacy. Therefore, as a research theme, we are promoting research to solve questions by putting clinical questions into research questions as research subjects. In order to promote the proper use of pharmaceuticals, we aim to build evidence through collaboration between universities and clinical sites, utilizing real-world data as well as medical data from the field.
