On December 21, the joint speech contest was held by Gifu Pharmaceutical University (GWU) and Gifu City Women's College at GWU's Mitahora Campus. This was the first time for two Gifu municipal universities to hold a joint contest.
At the contest, four students from Gifu Pharmaceutical University and three students from Gifu City Women's College took the stage and gave speeches on a variety of topics such as volunteer activities in the Philippines, and some social issues such as children's poverty and refugees from their unique perspectives.
About 80 students participated as audience members, and the judging was jointly conducted by two universities.
During the intermission, the mandolin club of Gifu Pharmaceutical University gave a wonderful performance.
